A person's OSBI background check will show every arrest, prosecution, and disposition (result) which has been reported to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation by Oklahoma law enforcement and judicial agencies.

WHAT AGENCIES ARE INCLUDED IN AN OSBI BACKGROUND CHECK? 
Every single law enforcement agency in Oklahoma reports their records to the OSBI, and judicial entities in all 77 counties: court clerks, local police, sheriff's departments, park rangers, highway patrol, and everyone else.

HOW FAR BACK DOES AN OSBI BACKGROUND CHECK GO?
The Bureau is continually updating their database, and we have personally seen records that are 50+ years old. Records will never "drop off" your OSBI report automatically - to have them removed, you are required to get an expungement.

CAN I REQUEST SOMEONE ELSE'S OSBI BACKGROUND CHECK?
Yes, anyone can request anyone else's OSBI records, for any reason. OSBI background checks are subject to the Oklahoma Open Records Act, and they are public records, accessible to anyone.

HOW QUICKLY CAN I GET AN OSBI BACKGROUND CHECK?

The purpose of this website is to provide Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (hereafter, OSBI) background checks to consumers on an expedited basis, for general information purposes only, in conformance with the Oklahoma Open Records Act.  

The OSBI background checks provided by this website are provided pursuant to the Oklahoma Open Record Act. Information shown on an OSBI background check represents data furnished to OSBI by law enforcement agencies, District Attorneys, and court records. Where data or disposition information is incorrect, not shown, or further explanation of a charge or disposition is desired, communicate directly with the law enforcement agency contributing the record. Do not contact the OSBI, the PLLC, or this website - there is nothing we can do about it. It is the responsibility of the contributing law enforcement agency to correct the record. If they will not help you, you can hire our attorneys to help you get it expunged.

The service provided by this website and the PLLC, for the fee stated above, includes ONLY the following: (1) submission of an OSBI records request to the OSBI, based on the information provided by the Customer; (2) reception of the responsive OSBI record in our office and conversion of it to a digital format; and (3) emailing said OSBI record to the Customer. Nothing else is included in the service. The PLLC does not intend to, nor will it under any circumstance, provide anything else in this service. Specifically, the following will never be included in this service: interpretation, correction, or discussion of the record. Customer's interested in said service are encouraged to review our expungement offerings. Otherwise, interpretation, correction, discussion, or any other action related to the OSBI record is the responsibility of the Customer and the contributing law enforcement agencies. 

Only the Court where a final disposition occurred can provide a certified copy of a record's disposition. Unless fingerprints accompanied your OSBI record request, OSBI cannot affirm that this record relates to the person of your inquiry. Furthermore, the PLLC cannot, in any circumstance, affirm that the record relates to the person of your inquiry: instead, each record must be individually verified by the Customer. The information provided is complete and accurate to the extent feasible as of the date of dissemination by OSBI, based on the records received at OSBI by contributing law enforcement and judicial entities. The information provided by the OSBI background check is not reviewed by the PLLC or any other person for interpretation or accuracy - that is the responsibility of the Customer, and the law enforcement and judicial agencies contributing records to the OSBI.
